In a forerunner to the impending departure of the British telecommunications company BT Group Plc from Tech Mahindra, two directors of the Indian firm’s board relinquished their posts on Friday. On late Friday, Tech Mahindra, the IT arm of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), has notified Indian stock exchanges that two directors nominated by BT Group – Nigel Stagg and Richard Cameron have quit the company’s board with immediate effect.

Infosys BPO, India’s second largest software development firm Infosys’ business process outsourcing arm, has announced on Tuesday that it has consented to purchase all of the unsettled shares of Portland Group Pty. Ltd., headquartered in Australia, for a sum of AUD37 million, while the software major looks for increasing its portfolio of range of services in the sourcing sector.

RuralShores to set up 100 BPO centers in rural areas

RuralShores Business Process Outsourcing, a domestic BPO firm in India which completed three years of existence recently, is expecting to set up as many as 100 rural BPO centers across the country and generate 10,000 new employments during the subsequent next three years.

Currently, RuralShores has established 10 rural BPO centers in seven Indian states, counting Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Presently, as many as 1,000 employees are working in these 10 rural BPO centers.
