Workforce size

The competitiveness of a country in the IT or BPO industry is fundamentally based on the size and effectiveness of the workforce. Illustrated below are the rankings of key outsourcing locations by size of workforce. China and India have a significantly larger base to draw from than most other locations. Also worthy of note is the relatively small size of many Eastern European nations. Many have workforces 1/5th to 1/10th the size of India.
