Global outsourcing firm WNS recently announced the appointment of Keshav Murugesh as its new chief executive officer, and its new position on the Board.
According to a report by CNN, Murugesh is expected to assume his new post and responsibilities on February 19.
The 46-year-old Murugesh previously had the same position at global information technology outsourcing firm Syntel Inc.
CNN quoted WNS Group Chairman Eric Herr as saying that Murugesh’s appointment as a CEO was a right move to lead the company now. He added that it is proven by his remarkable track record, which indicates his ability to please clients and to provide high-class financial performance.
Herr also said their clients and investors would see Murugesh as a leader that is capable of producing solid outcome to all of their stakeholders.
Murugesh oversaw Syntel’s knowledge process outsourcing and global IT services as the company’s CEO.
Before being promoted to the rank, he served as the president, COO and CFO throughout the substantial growth of Syntel’s revenue, global workforce and market capitalization.
During his leadership in the company last year, Syntel was named as Fortune magazine’s top outsourcing company for the “100 fastest growing companies in the world.”
Prior to his job at Syntel, he served for ITC Limited’s senior management positions.
Murugesh earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and is also a regular industry speaker. He is also the chairman of Students in Free Enterprise or SIFE in India.
The industry veteran said that he hopes to advance WNS’ performance and tap the talents of the industry’s highly experienced teams.
