Abtran to invest €3.5 million to create high-value 300 jobs

Abtran, the largest Irish BPO firm, has announced that it will invest a sum of €3.5 million in research and development (R&D) activities to generate 300 high-value employments in Cork in the province of Munster during the subsequent three years. This announcement comes in the wake of a €6.0 million investment made by the business processing firm in R&D in 2009 generating over 250 jobs. The earlier investment made in the firm’s ‘Learning and Innovation Centre’ was endorsed by Enterprise Ireland.

This time, the 300 new high-value jobs will include sectors like finance, business administration, management, information technology, resource planning and human resources. In addition, more jobs will be generated in offering the firm’s customers facilities, such as administration, finance, customer service and sales. The new employments will be allocated at the two offices of Abtran located in Model Farm Road and Curraheen Road in Cork, where the company already employs 1,000 personnel.

Quoting Abrtan managing director Michael Fitzgerald, a website reports that Abtran’s emphasis on R&D has enabled the business process outsourcing company to augment the firm’s competence to come up with innovative and superior services that have proved to be a major impelling cause for their growth thus far. Fitzgerald further said that they have been able to set up a network of academic, business, commercial as well as public sector interests to generate a pool of expertise in the region of service deliverance both for the clients as well as the civilians.

The Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt o’Keeffe TD, who was present on the occasion said the creation of 300 new high-value employments by Abtran is considered to be a noteworthy outlay in the R&D sector that lines up with the Government of Ireland’s visualization of a vibrant economy.
