Accenture wins supply chain BPO contract worth $160 million

Assessment development and research service provider Educational Testing Service (ETS) has awarded a seven-year contract extension worth $160 million to Accenture, a globally leading outsourcing and technology services and management consultancy firm, to carry on administering its continuous supply chain, as per a business process outsourcing (BPO) deal signed in May 2010.

As per the terms of the contract that was initially signed in 2005, Accenture will carry on administering all the attributes of the supply chain of Educational Testing Service, such as printing, publishing, distribution, warehousing, tracking and shipping of tests as well as test materials to over 10 million examinees taking the tests in as many as 160 countries annually. A news portal reports that this enables ETS to continuously enhance the control, precision as well as reliability of its processes.

The report quotes ETS vice-president (production and logistics) Diane Bailey as saying that working with Accenture during the last five years have helped the organization to save several millions of dollars in the costs incurred for printing, transportation and supply chain. He said that this has enabled them to pass on the benefits to their clients, even as maintaining to offer top-notch services to them.

Meanwhile, Accenture managing director (communications and high tech group), Rob D’Avanzo said that they considered it to be an privilege to avail the opportunity to carry on offering crucial supply chain as well as custom-made business process outsourcing services to the worldwide business of ETS. At the same time, he said that an effectual and streamlined supply chain procedure would facilitate ETS carry on attaining control and effectiveness over its complete functioning.
