Genpact in expansion mood, to acquire new facility in Romania
Easy accessibility of local expertise, infrastructural facilities as well as the lucrative operations, Genpact, a leading business process outsourcing (BPO) service provider, has now decided to increase its presence in Romania. A statement issued by the company said that presently it is in the process of setting up added facility in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca. In fact, the company desires to procure a new unit in Cluj-Napoca, which is projected to commence operations by July 2010.
A report published in an Indian English business daily says that Genpact had begun its operations in Romanian way back in 2005 and, pursuing the company’s policy to make investments in tier II cities, had established its first delivery centre in Cluj-Napoca in 2007. While the expansion has put the company in an advantageous position for development both in capacity and range for its existing as well as new customers in Europe.
According to Ramneesh Mohan, Genpact’s Site Leader for the Cluj-Napoca project in Romania, since its inception in 2007, the company’s delivery center in the Romanian city has encompassed the total gamut of financial and accounting services. It may be mentioned here that presently, the company offers services in the IT helpdesk, procurement, finance and accounting and customer services from Cluj-Napoca to over 20 existing customers located in the United States and in Western Europe.
Meanwhile, in view of the expansion plans in Romania, Genpact is also exploring the possibilities of employing local talents at its offices in Cluj-Napoca as well as it forthcoming new acquisition in the European nation. Although the company refused to divulge details in this regard, Genpact’s HR manager for Cluj-Napoca projects in Romania, Lulia Nare said that this year the company plans to appoint new employees, including accountants, graduates in economics and language experts.
