HCL wins major outsourcing contract from Al Majdouie Group
Leading Indian information technology services company HCL Technologies has entered into an agreement with Al Majdouie Group of Saudi Arabia to offer back-to-back facilities for seven-year tenure. Although the contract won by HCL Technologies is being touted as a major deal, neither party revealed the amount of the agreement.
As per the terms of the agreement, HCL Technologies will build up infrastructure, execute the e-business suite from Oracle incorporating 70 modules as well as manage and administer them for the Al Majdouie Group. In addition, the Indian tech firm will also be responsible for commissioning and running a data center as well as providing disaster recovery facilities for the Saudi Arabian conglomerate.
Quoting a statement issued by HCL Technologies, a website reports that the Indian tech firm’s end-to-end information technology services would facilitate restructuring and making Al Majdouie Group’s business process and impeccably join together all the firms belonging to the group. Al Majdouie Group has business interests in steel, automobiles, real estate transportation and travel industries.
According to the statement issued by HCL Technologies, the firm will need to combine its entire outsourcing potencies, applications, expertise, experience regarding the concerned industries knowledge and infrastructure competence with a view to assist Al Majdouie to accomplish basic makeover at the project level. Kiran Bhagwanani, HCL Technologies Senior Vice-President (Infrastructure Services Division), stated in the company release that they were positive regarding deliverance of significant cost effectiveness as well as business advantages to the Saudi Arabian corporation.
Nevertheless, when contacted by the website, a spokesperson of HCL Technologies refused to disclose the financial details of the deal, stating that the matter was strictly confidential. Nevertheless, the spokesperson confirmed that the contract is a ‘mega deal’ and for a duration of seven years. It may be noted here that the Indian tech firm had entered into an agreement for providing outsourcing services to the Singapore Exchange for five years. The size of the deal with Singapore Exchange is worth $110 million.
