Indian outsourcer Infosys BPO announced its partnership with American insurance institutes to expand the company’s insurance vertical, reports said.

According to Infosys BPO’s statement, the consortium between them and the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and the Insurance Institute of America will enrich Infosys BPO’s domain expertise and as well as the learning and development of its employees who are serving Reinsurance and Property and Casualty customers.

It added that the employees of Infosys Technologies’ outsourcing unit would also be given co-branded certification in cooperation with these non-government institutes.

A high-ranking official of Infosys BPO, Amit Kothiyal, was quoted by Business Standard as saying that the partnership with these institutes would enhance their domain expertise, and therefore allow them to provide better value and substantial solutions to their customer.

Infosys BPO has over 3,000 professionals that are accredited in different healthcare industry and insurance certifications.

Along with this collaboration with the Institutes, Infosys BPO said it considers rolling out internal and external certifications for over 1,000 employees in the next few years.

On the other hand, Vice-President Saul Swartout of the Institutes said that Infosys BPO can provide insurance content to their employees worldwide by utilizing their online learning platform.

The American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and the Insurance Institute of America are non-profit organizations that offer educational programs and as well as certification to individuals in all areas of property and liability insurance business. The Institute’s programs have at least 150,000 insurance worldwide practitioners involved.
