Infosys BPO wins five-year contract from T-Mobile UK

Infosys Technologies, India’s second largest IT firm in terms of revenue generation, has announced that its business process outsourcing arm Infosys BPO has won a five-year deal from T-Mobile UK. A statement issued by the IT major said that T-Mobile UK, a major global mobile operator having over 125 million customers across the world, has engaged the services of Infosys BPO to provide support services for its numerous core processes, especially for the finance directorate including commercial finance and accounting, customer finance and procurement operations.

Quoting a statement issued by Infosys Technologies on Monday, a business website reports that the strategic alliance is noteworthy since Infosys BPO will be assuming responsibility for explicit transactional operations that would permit T-Mobile to focus on financial matters that are tactically important or those that dispense competitive gains.

The release says that during the last year, the company has been concentrating on attaining domain expertise among different industries with a view to allow it to deal with problems specific to industries confronted by its clients making use of a permutation of technology and process levers to enhance competences.

The online report quotes Infosys BPO vice-president and head (Media, Communications and Entertainment) Gopal Devanahalli as saying that they are delighted over being chosen by Mobile-T UK for the assignment. He said that Infosys BPO has combined its strong commercial finance and accounting (F&A) with its knowledge regarding the telecom industry to win the contract from Mobile-T.

Meanwhile, commenting on the deal, the head of customer finance at Mobile-T UK, Tim Spence said that they were eager to collaborate with a firm that has an excellent perception regarding their necessities and business requirements. Praising the achievements of Infosys BPO, Spence said that the company has demonstrated profound experience in the field of telecom and is known far and wide as a frontrunner in the field of business process outsourcing. He added that T-Mobile is confident that it will gain immensely through its association with Infosys BPO.
