Kraft signs major outsourcing contract with Capgemini

Kraft Foods, Inc., the leading confectionery, food, and beverage conglomerate in the United States and the second-biggest in the worldwide that acquired Cadbury recently, have entered into a major outsourcing deal with Capgemini to manage its operations in North America.

The multi-year contract with Capgemini will enable Kraft to utilize the French consultancy firm’s latest integrated platform to administer its procurement services inclusive of category management to front-end souring. A news release issued by the French multinational in Paris on Tuesday quotes the firm’s head of business processing division, Hubert Giraud saying that the firm will offer its expertise to make the American food giant’s procurement services more efficient as well as sustain Kraft Foods’ objective of viable operations.

While the financial details regarding the deal were not revealed by either party, it has been learnt that as per the stipulations of the contract, Capgemini America Inc., the French multinational’s arm in the United States, will take up the task for tactical sourcing and spend management for different purchasing type. In addition, the French firm will also set up its latest global deliverance model that takes advantage of the technology attained by the company owing to its acquisition of IBX to ensure the efficient operations of Kraft Foods.
