Syntel Inc. launches international development hub in India

Syntel Inc., a leading global IT and KPO service provider, has opened a global development hub at a cost of $50 million. Sep up on a 29-acre land at the Sipcot IT park located at Siruseri close to Chennai, the center is being built in several stages having a capacity to seat more than 10,000 professionals.

In the first phase, the development center sill have three software development blocks, a training block that can accommodate 900 people, a dining court as well as a reception lobby. The first phase of the project covers an area of 6.5 lakh sq. feet and will have capacity to accommodate 5000 employees. The first building of the campus having 1700 seats is already prepared and plans are afoot to add another 3200 seats soon. Quoting Prashant Ranade, president & CEO of Syntel Inc., a business website reports that the firm has made insistent investments in people and infrastructure during the past few years and now the Chennai center would make certain that the firm is able to fulfill the requirements of its clients.

According to Ranade, presently the outsourcing market worldwide is experiencing a phase of rapid growth and hence, Syntel’s global development center in Chennai would manifest the next generation of global development resources that has been devised considering the requirements of the firm’s clients. The new center has the scalability and suppleness to adjust to the precise requirements of the clients as well as a transforming technology background.

It may be noted that presently, Syntel has three centers at Adyar, Nandambakkam and IT corridor in Chennai and plans to expand its operations in the southern Indian state. In addition, Syntel is also mulling over expanding its campus in Pune by adding a total of 5400 seats in two divisions and additional provisions.
