Tech Mahindra Opens New Office in Chandigarh, India

Continuing its expansion in one of India's latest business process outsourcing hubs, Tech Mahindra announced that it opened a new 1,000 person BPO office in Chandigarh, India.

Tech Mahindra, one of India's leading IT solution providers that primarily caters to the telecommunications industry, stated the facility will accommodate 500 seats immediately and will have another 500 on the 15-acre site by the end of September. Chandigarh is considered in the top five of India's emerging cities for BPO operations.

Tech Mahindra's Pres. for Corporate Affairs, Sujit Baksi, told Economic Times of India that this Chandigarh site gives them the opportunity to greatly expand their operations in Northern India. He added that they are eager to develop this center as a major hub and that they are willing to reach out to the local workforce in the region.

The IT solutions provider has already set up an office in Chandigarh and this newly opened one will have first-class infrastructure.

According to a statement, Tech Mahindra is designing a continuous customer service operation to support telecom clients. It added that the new Chandigarh office will cater to international and domestic clients.

Baksi also mentioned in the statement that Chandigarh is a preferred site for its BPO and IT culture and has cutting edge infrastructure. He added that the local government provided assistance and that the city has a skilled workforce.

Apart from the centers in Chandigarh, Tech Mahindra also has its BPO presence in Kolkata, Chennai, Pune and Noida. It also has overseas office locations in Belfast and New Castle.
