TransGenez to set up BPO centers in rural India

Indian outsourcing firm TransGenez is gearing up to set up new BPO centers in the rural regions of the country with a view to enhance cost effectiveness, employment generation and profitability. The tech firm, which has expertise in BPO, KPO and other related services, already has two business process outsourcing centers in villages in northern India and now plans to establish new offices and contact centers in the tier-2 and tier-3 metropolitan areas, including Dharwad, Hubli and Hassan, in Karnataka, India.

Quoting TransGenez chief executive Dhaval Kumar Gat, an industry-related website reports that though the firm is certain to confront problems related to poor Internet bandwidth, electrification and human resource management, he was optimist that the trend will become popular soon since the rural market has immense prospects. According to Gat, the new centers in rural areas would primarily focus on domains related to data entry jobs, live education and additional voice-based enterprises.

Meanwhile TransGenez Business Head Pavan Kumar said that his firm desires to recruit a significant number of people in these rural centers provided they are somewhat proficient in English speaking, which is essential for employment in the BPO sector. He said they are also willing to provide requisite training to interested candidates for the job. While the company plans to employ 250 to 300 personnel in the educational department, no decision has yet been taken on the number of employees to be recruited for BPO operations. However, the figure is likely to be around 100 in the initial stages, he added.

Referring to the impact of the recent global economic recession on TransGenez’s performance, Pawan Kumar said that henceforth they intend to develop a miscellaneous client base with a view to evade dependence on any particular market or country. He was hopeful that his company would be able to win contacts even from countries still tottering under the economic slump, as the expenses on the service provided by the employees at the firm’s rural centers would be far more economical and within the affordability of these nations.

According to TransGenez, its greatest strength was its ability in team development. The firm’s ‘Capability Development Team’ in providing competent training to its prospective employees. According to TransGenez vice-president, Education Outsourcing, Pooja Saxena, the company’s objective is not only to train the rural youths for employment in rural BPO centers, but also to make their expertise worthy for employment in the BPO centers located in metropolis areas.
